WHAT IT IS:
Kickbooster is an affiliate marketing platform. Built in 2016 for Kickstarter campaigns, they’re the best tool we’ve seen that can most accurately track affiliate sales and referrals, and then reward these affiliates in cash. They only just released the version for Indiegogo in early 2018, and also a version for Shopify in mid-2018.
HOW IT WORKS:
- You connect your Google Analytics account and invite the Kickbooster team to access your crowdfunding page.
- You set up your Campaign Page on Kickbooster that pitches the product and talks about your referral program.
- You refer people to the Kickbooster page
- They can sign up for a Kickbooster account for free, to start sharing with their friends!
HOW KICKBOOSTER HELPS:
- You can also post it to the Kickbooster Marketplace, where professional affiliates and other users can browse for campaigns.
- Kickbooster has a regular email blast based on top performing affiliate campaigns. Rainfactory sends our client campaigns to our contact at KB to try to jump this process.
- There are a couple of publications that also browse Kickbooster looking for new products to write about, but this seems pretty rare.
OTHER THINGS YOU CAN DO:
- Start a Referral Campaign on your Crowdfunding page
- Encourage Instagram Influencers, YouTubers, and Small-Scale Bloggers to share your campaign.
THE COST:
- They work off of tracked sales, and not your entire campaign.
- $29/mo + 3% of tracked sales goes to Kickbooster
- + xx% of tracked sales goes to the affiliates.
- xx can range from 1% to 97%, but Kickbooster recommends 10%.
- You can always increase the %% commission over time, but you can’t decrease it.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
- Kickbooster is a tool, not an agency (Rainfactory is an agency). They don’t really add in much support other than providing the tool to track referral sales.
- Because Kickbooster works off of TRACKED sales, we’ve seen that the traffic they send would help the remarketing campaigns run by Rainfactory. We are able to continue sending ads to people who have visited the page and not yet purchased.
